New Patient Registration

Details of how to register are available from the New Patient Registration tab above or from Reception. On registering you will be invited to complete a health questionnaire and meet with the Practice nurse or doctor for a registration examination.

Practice Area

The Practice covers Tarbert and its environs, extending to Kilberry, Inverneill, Whitehouse, Clachan and Skipness.   Everyone registered with the Practice has equal access to appointments, home visits and emergency care regardless of where they live.

Change of Personal Details

If you change your name, address, telephone number, email etc please let the reception staff know in order to update your medical records – this saves valuable time in an emergency.

A Patient Guide to GP Services

In order for the practice to accept your registration, all new patients, including their family, must make an appointment to see our Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Health Care Assistant within 4 weeks of registration. This will include assessment of current and previous medical history, current medication and a general health check. In order to update our records fully, please can you bring a record of your children's vacinations.

This is extremely helpful, particularly as it can take 3-6 months to obtain previous medical records even transferring within the locality.

Temporary Registration

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that practice.

To register as a temporary patient simply contact the local practice you wish to use. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.
